What are the major RIM materials?
Structural foam
Foam refers to the microscopic bubble like structure formed during the molding. RIM foams range from flexible to rigid.

Elastomerics
Elastomeric RIM can be soft and pliable, mimicking rubber, to sufficiently rigid for enclosure applications.

Glass reinforced
Fiber glass filled RIM can range from flexible to solid.

Rim composites
Structural RIM (SRIM) is classified a composite when RIM encapsulates fiberglass or carbon fibers and mats.
